Who are we?
Meet Us, Brandon and Cory: We have been married for 7 years and have lived in 5 different cities! It has been a whirlwind, but we have done it together and it has made us stronger and closer to God. When we were dating we thought about our future, what we would do, where we would go, imagined our 2 kids (a boy and a girl of course), and dreamed of one day building our own home. God has blown those expectations out of the water. He has asked so much more of us than I dreamed possible, but I have learned so much from it all. Brandon and I have had our ups and downs but we are more committed and in love than ever before. Thanks for the ride babe, I look forward to more life adventures together!
Meet Zachary James: Born October 22, 2004, just one year into a two year program I had begun at Central Washington University. Boy was his pregnancy a surprise! I couldn’t believe we were pregnant, couldn’t figure out how/when it had happened, and definitely didn’t know what to do about finishing school. Zac was our first sign that God has a different plan than we do, but also our first time experiencing the joys that come when you let Him lead. It all worked out and Zac is now a 4 1/2 year old boy who is full of energy, love, compassion, and opinions! He loves being active outside as well and sitting quietly and doing puzzles and building legos. He is a joy and blessing and most of the time a “Mommy’s Boy” which I don’t mind.
Meet Zoey Breanne: Zoey was baby surprise number 2, born April 13, 2006, and came during a very trying time for Brandon and I. We had always dreamed of having two kids, a boy and a girl, she made this dream complete! 3 years later she continues to surprise and puzzle me with her imaginative and lively personality. The mental land Zoey lives in we call “Zoey Land” and she visits it often. In love with being a girl, Zoey loves to wear dresses and fancy things and tells everyone she likes “purple, pink and red.” Sparkles, attention, pretty things, and playing mommy is what she does. When there is a calm moment with Zoey she will be found cutting, sticking, drawing, painting or gluing at the table. She loves to help with her little sister and baby brother!
Meet Ally Capri: Brandon and I found out we were expecting baby surprise (and blessing) number 3 just days before submitting our final drawings for our building plans, so we stuck a 4th bedroom on the house and have been on the run ever since. Ally was born January 24, 2008 and has been a joy. For the first eleven months of her life Brandon was hardly around, due to his full time job and building our house almost completely by himself when he got “off” work. Despite this, Ally is a major “Dad’s girl.” She asks about him when she wakes up and CAN’T wait to see him when I tell her he is home. Ally loves shoes, food, talking, wondering off, bath time, being outside, climbing, and being in the middle of whatever is going on. She is adjusting well to being a big sister and likes to help just enough, but not too much.
Meet Austin Jerald: Born August 27th, 2009, our final addition. He is starting to “come into himself” by showing us his desire for independence. Currently he is 23 pounds (at 9 months), loves to eat, and crawl. Austin loves his older siblings and lights up when they enter the room. Putting everything in his mouth is his favorite pasts time activity, Peek-a-boo is a close second. It is so fun to watch as Austin grows and matures, he is the perfect last addition to our family!
*Side note: We don’t live on a farm, in fact we don’t even have a single pet or animal! It just feels like a farm around here a lot of the time. Besides, Ferens Farm sounded better than “the crazy Ferens house” or “4 kids in less than 5 years” or something else like that!
